The school community donated 300kg of packed and tinned food to the appeal, equating to 200 meals for the rising number of struggling families in the Truro area.
The Foodbank has expressed its profound gratitude to the school community for its generosity as demand for emergency food supplies continues to rise.
This August, Truro Foodbank provided 244 emergency supplies to people in crisis compared to 164 last year – an increase of almost 50%.
The donations were presented to the Foodbank following the school’s Harvest Service in St John’s Church in Truro.
The service was led by Rev’d Rachel Monie. Rev’d Monie encouraged all the girls to think about those who do not have enough food to put on the table, community’s around the world whose harvest is suffering due to climate change and how we can all be positive force for change on an international scale.
