Last month saw the whole school community take on ‘The Cambodia Challenge’ as part of the growing list whilst challenges so far completed also include Year 12 Roisin competing in a national sailing competition, Year 8s Bella and Sophie taking on the Pretty Muddy charity run, Year 9 Melissa being selected for a national fencing squad, Year 9 Sarah attempting to increase Cornwall’s bee population and Prep 3 Georgie cutting her hair for charity.

There’s been no rest for Georgie who has just completed her latest challenge to add to the 140 alongside her twin sister Bella. The pair decided to undertake a ‘September Stroll’ and walk to school every day last month.

Come rain or shine, the 8-year-old sisters took the 2-mile walk to and from school every weekday clocking up an impressive 76 miles between them over the course of the month.

The girls say that it’s all part of their aim to be kind to the planet and reduce their carbon footprint. It’s been so successful that they will be carrying on their walk into October too.

Could your daughter undertake the next challenge to mark 140 years since Bishop Benson founded the High School in 1880?

From climbing mountains and charitable acts to setting themselves an ambitious personal goal, we hope that all our girls will embrace the opportunity to complete a challenge to commemorate this milestone, whether that be solo or with friends. No challenge is too big or too small.
