The Green Goddess II and Kernow Kittz will now take on the country’s brightest and best racers at the home of British Motor Racing.

It’s a particularly special moment for 15-year-old Ellie M who has been instrumental in the remodelling of the Green Goddess II this season.

Head of STEM, Mr Jon Dean said: “It is incredibly exciting that after seven years of working with the Green Goddess she has finally qualified in her own right for the international finals. She is the oldest car in our fleet but the girls have stuck by her and have never given up and it is entirely down to their hard work and determination that they have now finally earned their reward.”

The girls earned their place in the finals last weekend when they followed in the footsteps of ‘The Stig’ and they zoomed round the track at Dunsfold Park, home of the BBC’s Top Gear.

The team showed exceptional determination and teamwork throughout their time on the track and were rewarded for their efforts by earning their place amongst the top 50 cars in the UK.

With a few planned improvements now underway in the workshop, the team is now busy preparing for the international finals this October.

The date is a significant one for Greenpower as it marks exactly 20 years since the first ever event took place.
