Three mornings a week, it’s been a bright and early start for our advanced and able swimmers as they dive into the school pool at 7am in preparation for a huge number of upcoming county and regional competitions.

The development programme is open to girls of all ages and currently includes students from Prep 4 all the way to Year 11.

The course leaders are three of the county’s top swim coaches from Cornish Swim Academy. Lee Stanbury is Head Coach at St Ives Bay Swimming Club as well as being Head of the Cornish Swim Academy. He is a national Age group finalist and finished 3rd in the European Masters Championship.

With 30 years’ experience behind him, Lee offers the squad invaluable expertise to help them get the edge in this year’s raft of swimming competitions. Heading up the course alongside Lee is Cameron Russell, Level 3 coach and current Head Coach for Bodmin Dragons and Matt Hill, Head Coach of Penzance Swimming Club.

Our coaches have really been putting the squad through their paces since the start of term and are delighted to see our swimmers improving more and more every session.

Following each morning’s hard work, the girls have enjoyed a hearty breakfast in the dining hall before heading off for the school day.

If your daughter would like to be added to the squad waiting list please email Truro High parent Mrs Libby Huddy who is helping co-ordinate the course. Mrs Huddy can be contacted at libby.huddy@hotmail.co.uk
