The couple, who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall when visiting the region, are touring the historic county as part of Charles’ extended 70th birthday celebrations ahead of his big day in November.

They began their day at the Royal Cornwall Show, an annual celebration of the very best in Cornish agriculture and food and has been running since 1793.

Truro High Prep 6 pupils Issy and Rosie were delighted to stand amongst the select few greeting Prince Charles and Camilla on their arrival at the show and were particularly excited to be alongside a very special furry visitor as part of this welcoming line-up.

It was the first time at the showground for Truro High teddy who brought a smile to the faces of Their Royal Highnesses as well as many others over the course of the event.

Prep 6 Dominique was also thrilled to have the chance to greet the Duchess of Cornwall at the show’s flower tent.

The three-day show, which this year took place from 7th – 9th June, attracted around 120,000 visitors.

Alongside Truro High teachers and their Prep 6 helpers, visitors had the chance to explore forensic science, mathematical origami, high speed photography, engineering and much more on the school’s new and improved stand.

The team were thrilled to welcome so many visitors over the course of the show and a busy week was rounded off with a drinks reception. In attendance was the School’s new Head, Mrs Sarah Matthews, who was delighted to take the opportunity to get to know the school community a little better.
