100% of those taking the exam achieved a pass with an amazing 77% of all passes with Distinction and 33% with Merit. Record numbers of pupils took part in these prestigious examinations at the school with over 80 young actresses taking to the stage.

LAMDA, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies and has offered practical examinations in communication and performance for more than 130 years.

From reciting poems to miming and acting, the awards encourage pupils of all ages to develop their self-confidence, their language awareness and their vocal and physical techniques.

Opening the results, our Theatre Director and Drama Teacher, Mr Tutin, declared himself absolutely thrilled with the grades which, he said, were testament to all the hard work put in by the pupils and their teachers over the course of many months.

In addition to offering GCSE and A level Drama, Truro High School offers LAMDA lessons, dance tuition, drama clubs and a major production each year giving pupils plenty of opportunities outside of the classroom to explore their talent in all aspects of the theatre.
