Against tough competition from the region’s top shooters, Alice stormed to victory taking the overall county open title, ladies title and the Under 21 title.

She also won the pairs championship with her shooting partner David Husband and led the St Austell Rifle team to victory in the team championship.

Undefeated by shooters who came from as far afield as Bristol and Southampton, the sixth former scored an impressive 568/600 in the open championship. Her nearest rival scored 541.

The victory was particularly sweet for Alice who last year narrowly missed out on the overall Open title by one point due to a misfire in the last round.

A just reward for her hard work, she proudly headed home with an impressive haul of prizes that included eight gold medals and four perpetual trophies.

Alice’s impressive win follows an exciting year for the young markswoman which has seen her take home gold at her first international shooting competition and be selected to compete with a national shooting squad. She now holds the County title, South West regional title and the Welsh Open title for rifle shooting.

Later this month, Alice hopes to add another title to her collection as she takes on challengers of all ages in one of the country’s largest shooting events: the British Open Championship.

Alice’s father, Andrew Wilson, said: “We are so impressed by the phenomenal progress Alice has made over the last two years. She is an incredibly dedicated and ambitious sportswoman and, with the support of a sponsor to help her get to the top, selection for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2020 Tokyo Olympics is becoming an increasingly real possibility. We couldn’t be more proud.”

Alice is on the lookout for further sponsorship support as she drives towards her ultimate ambition of representing Team GB at the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
