The announcement rounds off a fantastic year at the School which achieved a 100% pass rate at A level with almost half of all passes at grades A* or A. Of the many exams taken in subjects ranging from Latin to Chemistry and from Textiles to Maths, 72% of students achieved all their passes at grades A*-B. In three subjects there were no passes below a grade A.

Headmaster, Dr Glenn Moodie, said: “I am delighted with the news from Best-Schools which is the result of a lot of hard work by the girls. At Truro High we make sure that every girl receives lots of individual attention and ready access to her teachers and this really shows both in the lead up to exams and in the results they then achieve. I am very proud of them all.”

Truro High recently unveiled a new programme for Aspiring Medics to provide those girls looking to study medicine, veterinary science or dentistry at university with a full programme of bespoke experience and tuition. The programme will be officially launched later this month with an evening lecture by Dr Hasnain Dalal, Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer from the University of Exeter Medical School, on the topic “Research in medicine – why bother?”

Anyone interesting in finding out more about the Aspiring Medics programme, or in having their daughter sit the 11+ or 13+ entrance examinations on January 21st should contact the Registrar, Miss Catie Shaw, on 01872 242904.
