Against tough competition from the top shooters from the UK and Europe, Alice stormed to victory in the Under 21 Welsh Open Championships.

Even more impressive, Alice was the youngest competitor to take part in this prestigious event: many who entered the competition were several years her senior.

In the first qualification round Alice scored a new personal best of 388 out of 400 which earned her a place in the top eight knockout final. During the qualification shoot she also achieved a major personal milestone of a consecutive group of ten tens.

In the nail-biting final elimination, Alice swiftly moved up the ranks from fourth place to second. In the deciding last two shots she produced an outstanding, near-perfect 10.8 scoring shot winning her the sought-after title.

Alice’s impressive win follows an exciting couple of months for the young markswoman which have seen her take home a gold medal at her first international shooting competition and be selected to compete with a national shooting squad.

Andrew Wilson, Alice’s father said: “We are so impressed by the phenomenal progress Alice has made over the last two years. She is an incredibly dedicated and ambitious sportswoman and, with the support of a sponsor to help her get to the top, selection for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2020 Tokyo Olympics is becoming an increasingly real possibility. We couldn’t be more proud.”

Alice is on the lookout for further sponsorship support as she drives towards her ultimate ambition of representing Team GB at the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
