Almost one in five girls achieved straight A*s or As in their exams, contributing to an outstanding overall pass rate of 99.6% at grades A*-C.

An impressive 28% of passes were at A* – that’s more than four times the national average – with 56.5% of all passes at A* or A.

Pupils studying Astronomy, Geology and Theatre Studies all passed with A* or A with those grades also accounting for well over half the passes in thirteen subjects ranging from Maths to Latin and from Art to Chemistry.

Among those celebrating were Bennath Halse, Eugenie Nevin and Gisele Parnall who all take home 11 A*s. Chloe White picked up 10 A*s and 1 A, Rosalind Williams 9 A*s and 3 As and Alice Barry 9 A*s and 2 As. Lowenna Penny was also celebrating her 12 passes.

Last year the school was the highest ranked in Cornwall for GCSEs, earning a place in the exclusive Telegraph’s Top 200 Independent Schools. This year teachers are thrilled to be reporting even better results.

Headmaster, Dr Glenn Moodie, said: “These results are testament to all the hard work put in by the girls and their teachers over the course of many years. They enjoy learning and they benefit greatly from the individual attention that we can give them with many achieving grades they had never thought possible.”

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all the teachers and support staff who create the right environment for our girls to learn and my gratitude goes too to our parents who work so closely with the school to continue the good work done in the classroom back at home.”
