Truro High Prep 6 pupil Tillunah-Belle Waters, Year 8 Evie Roberts and Year 8 Sage Newby-Jelliffe have been selected to train in the U13 and U14 Cornwall Satellite Netball Academy.

The selection process has been long and rigorous lasting over several months. Against over 150 of the county’s top female players, the girls proved their prowess on the court and excelled throughout the trial phase. Only 20 girls were selected in each age group for the training.

Prep 6 Tillunah-Belle impressed coaches so much that she was fast-tracked to the team despite being significantly younger than many of her competitors. Spots are usually only open to girls in Year 7 & 8.

PE Coach, Mrs Gill Tregay said: “The girls are incredibly hard working and talented players and we are all extremely proud that they have taken these coveted places. This is the first step in the process towards playing at a national level and we look forward to seeing these sports stars of the future thrive in this environment.”

If the girls impress at the Academy, they will have the opportunity to progress to regional and national level competitions.
