Fourteen handmade log-style cabin fronts lined the main school hall filled with pupils and vendors selling locally-made festive treats and gifts.

2000 baubles and over 150m of fairy lights strung from the ceiling added to the spectacle whilst a snow machine completed the school’s metamorphosis into a magical winter scene.

The cabins were created by parents Chris Daw and Steve Pound with the support of an army of loyal mums who have been working tirelessly for the last month to make the event possible.

Santa’s Grotto took centre stage surrounded by a forest of wooden cut-out trees and boasting a glowing fireplace. His chair was a school antique donated by former pupils which is usually situated in the school’s historic entranceway.

Stalls run by staff and pupils included an ‘Elf-Yourself’ video booth, snowball coconut shy and reindeer food for children to leave out on Christmas Eve.

There were also many luxury goods stall holders for those on the hunt for Christmas presents. Shoppers had the chance to buy this season’s collection from top international designer Uzma Bozai, cashmere and artisan gifts from Volupte Life whilst local milliner Holly Young showcased what the best dressed heads will be wearing this winter.

Co-chair of the PTA Mary Hodgson said: “The PTA had a very ambitious plan when we set out three months ago and the results are even better than we could have imagined. Huge thanks go to everyone who’s been involved, especially the hardworking and dedicated team of mums who have given up so much of their time over the last two days to transform the school into a winter wonderland. There are too many of them to name individually but a special mention should go to Jo Duncan for her vision of a bauble ceiling.”
