Daisy Chapman, 11, has recently represented Cornwall at the HSBC Road to Wimbledon finals – the biggest junior tournament in British tennis. She fought her way through three qualifying rounds and made it all the way to the quarter finals.

She competed against other finalists – aged 14 or under – from across the UK on the world famous grass courts at the Wimbledon All England Club. Daisy was even lucky enough to be interviewed by Britain’s former No 1 Tim Henman.

A member of Truro Tennis Club, she was presented with the James Webster Memorial Trophy earlier this year for her outstanding contribution to junior tennis in Cornwall as a result of her phenomenal success at national and international level.

Sara, Daisy’s Mum said: “We’re incredibly proud that Daisy’s dedication and commitment has paid off; she had an absolutely amazing week at Wimbledon. Though she wished she could have won the whole tournament, Daisy is nothing if not ambitious, making it to the last eight girls in a national 14 and under competition at the age of 11 is an impressive achievement.”
