Rowing her way to the Olympics?
“The GB Rowing Team Start programme gives you the opportunity to push yourself to achieve more than you thought you could, expand your horizons, and develop into a high performance athlete. You do not need any prior rowing experience; just the right physique and attitude to give rowing a go.”
A statement worthy of a 5:30am start according to aspiring young rower Charlotte Brown, 14, from Cornwall. Charlotte, a Year 10 student at Truro High School for Girls, aspires to compete internationally with final aims of making the team for future Olympic Games – aiming as soon as 2020.
Training at Stithians Lake every weekend with her friends Bella and Josh, Charlotte is trying to work hard, keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle, whilst also juggling GCSEs.
Results from recent competitions are proving to be quite promising with a 2nd in her regional final at Dart-Totnes.
Next on the list is sixth form at Hartpury College which will enable her to further her studies whilst concentrating on her fitness and rowing career.
