Truro High’s got Talent 2013

Girls of all ages showcased an impressive range of singing, dancing and musical skills when they performed in this years Truro High's Got Talent contest.

Ten acts were shortlisted for the final which took place in front of a packed audience of friends and parents at the school. Once everyone had performed, the public were asked to vote for their favourite and the top four acts then performed again. The final decision was made by the judges – Headteacher Caroline Pascoe, PR consultant and speech and drama tutor Sue Bradbury and former actress and Truro High ‘old girl’ Susie Fairfax-Davies.

It was fourteen year old Sophie Gray, from St Austell, who carried away the winner’s trophy with a beautiful rendition of ‘Sing’ – the official song of the Diamond Jubilee. Ten year old Saskia Beechey-Newman, from Mount Hawke, was runner-up with her version of Little Mix’s song ‘Wings’. In joint third place was dance act ‘Roar’ performed by Issy Carr, 10, from Penzance, Evelyn Robertson, 11, from Constantine and Roisin O’Halloran, 10 from Truro and singing duo Sophie Donne, 14, from Olivia Riley, 14, both from Falmouth, with ‘Pumped up Kicks’.

“The standard of performance from everyone taking part was very high,” said Head Judge Caroline Pascoe. “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I congratulate all the girls involved.”

Truro High’s Got Talent was organised by the PTA to raise money for the school’s Annual Fund.
