Truro High School girls “Go Pyjamas” on TV

An episode of CBBC's Blue Peter, which celebrates the start of their Children in Need 'Go Pyjamas' fundraising campaign, has starred a group of Truro High School girls.

Alongside their parents, brothers, sisters and friends, the girls descended upon Boscawen Park wearing their pyjamas over their clothes awaiting the arrival of the Blue Peter presenters, Helen Skelton and Barney Harwood.

In typical Blue Peter fashion, the presenters were winched down from a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose cheered on by the girls, and they then took part in a pyjama walk around the park.

After many photos and autographs, whilst waiting for the sun to go down, the presenters announced to the girls that there was to be a special surprise and unveiled a big box with a red button on it.

After asking the girls whether they should press the button, and answered by a resounding “yes!” a spectacular fireworks display ensued marking the start of their Children in Need campaign.

The High School’s Headmistress Caroline Pascoe said, “Truro High girls get many opportunities but meeting the stars of Blue Peter and being on children’s TV has been a highlight. They loved every minute of it, from doing lots of waving and cheering to getting to meet the presenters, and even signing Happy Birthday to Barney and sharing his birthday cake.”
