Team GB win for 14-year-old Daisy in her international tent-pegging debut

Year 10 Daisy Penrose galloped ahead of the competition in her international tent-pegging debut helping team GB storm to victory in Holland last week.

She was commended by the international judges on her exceptional personal score and dedication to the team. They were even more impressed when it was revealed that the young rider is only 14.

The youngest entrant in the competition, Daisy joined one of the two four-man teams representing Great Britain this September.

There are no junior teams at this level and Daisy rode with and was pitted against adult jockeys who are many years her senior.

Following the prize giving, Daisy was honoured to be asked to sabrage the celebratory bottle of champagne – a fitting end to an extremely successful foray into the world of competitive armed cavalry sports.
