Head awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal

Truro High School's Headmistress, Caroline Pascoe, has been awarded a Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal for her work with the Combined Cadet Force.

The coveted medals have been issued on behalf of the Queen to honour the dedication and service of public sector workers as she marks 60 years on the throne.

Receiving her medal from Squadron Leader Peter Westley, of the Air Cadets based at RAF Cranwell, Caroline was thrilled to be acknowledged for her work with the CCF over the past 6 years. She said:

“I was in charge of the RAF section of the CCF at Wellington School in Somerset before being appointed Headmistress here at Truro High, and I am still very much involved with their activities during the school holidays.

“It is great to be involved with the CCF as it gives young people so many varied opportunities, raises their self esteem and highlights the importance of skills like team work.”
