Glitter and sparkle the call of the day as Truro High School hosts Dance Show LIVE!
Dance Show LIVE! showcased the talent of pupils at the school with girls aged 4-18 showing off their moves in two sell-out performances.
From tappers to flappers and pirouettes to shimmies, the girls wowed their audiences with a packed programme put together in the first half of term.
It was a particularly momentous night for Year 12 Coco Sham who, as well as performing on stage herself, had choreographed an impressive group number for the show.
Dance is an important part of life at Truro High with Prep pupils given the chance to learn ballet, street dance and lyrical as part of their everyday curriculum. Senior girls are also encouraged to pursue their dreams with dance teacher, Miss Danyelle Fry, helping them learn new skills and choreograph their own routines in both classes and extra-curricular clubs.
Head of Creative and Performing Arts, Mrs Judith Tutin, said: “Dance is a fantastic form of PE that calls on the girls to work as a team physically and artistically. It unites all the art forms from music to visuals, dance and costumes and it also unites the two sides of the brain with the girls using reasoning to learn the routines and creativity to make them beautiful and emotional.”
Professional dance teachers Clare Meardon and Jacqui Riordan were also involved in the show at the school which has just been ranked by the Times Schools Guide 2018 as the top school in Cornwall and well within the top 200 independent schools in the country.
