An extraordinary display of talent as Truro High School stages Dance Show LIVE!

Glitter and style were the order of the day as more than 100 girls took to the stage for the first ever dance show produced by Cornwall’s top performing school, Truro High.

Dance Show LIVE showcased the talent of pupils at the school with girls aged 4-18 showing off their moves in two sell-out performances.

From ballet to Bollywood, tap to lyrical, the girls wowed their audiences with a packed programme put together in the first half of term.

Dance is an important part of life at Truro High with Prep pupils given the chance to learn ballet, street dance and lyrical as part of their everyday curriculum. Senior girls are also being encouraged to pursue their dreams with new dance teacher, Miss Amy Veall, helping them learn new skills and choreograph their own routines.

Addressing the audience, Headmaster Dr Glenn Moodie said: “For many of these girls this will be the first time they have ever danced in public. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved in a very short space of time and we hope to build upon their work in the future.”

Professional dance teachers Clare Meardon and Jason Thomas were also involved in the show which promises to be the first of many at the school which this year celebrated the best academic results in the county at both GCSE and A Level.
