Appointment of New Headmaster

The Governors are delighted to announce that Dr Glenn Moodie (pictured) has been appointed as the new Headmaster of Truro High School from September 2014.

Dr Moodie is currently the Director of Studies at Wycombe Abbey School and is married to Vanessa; they have a 6-year old daughter, Livia, who will be joining Prep 2 in September.

Dr Moodie, who is originally from New Zealand, has previous teaching experience at Clifton College and Uppingham School where he taught Latin, Greek and Classics. He was also involved in boarding at both schools. He obtained his Doctorate in Classics at Bristol University.

Dr Moodie will replace Mrs Caroline Pascoe who will be leaving the High School to take up her new appointment in April 2014. Mrs Marcia Smith, the Deputy Head, will be acting Headmistress until Dr Moodie joins the School in late-Summer.

Dr Moodie said that ‘I am honoured and delighted to be appointed the new Head of Truro High School. I am very much looking forward to moving to beautiful Cornwall with my family and getting to know the pupils, parents and staff of the school.’

There will of course be opportunities over the next few months for parents to meet the new Headmaster and more details will follow.
