News & Achievements

Another top year for our Year 11s!

It was a sunny atmosphere today at school (despite the heavy showers!) when our Year 11 girls and their parents came in to collect their very well-deserved GCSE results.

All of the girls achieved the magic 5+ passes at A*-C (including maths and English) and of course most girls achieved at the very highest levels throughout.

Kelly Bowden led the way with a stunning 12 A*s (including Astronomy which she took as a lunch-time hobby with the Head of Science) with Anna Phillips achieving 11 A*s and Lauren Bose 9 A*s and 2 As. Many of the girls will be returning to the Sixth Form in September and their great successes bode well for a tremendous A level career.

Other statistics include 56% of grades at A*/A and 84.6% at A*-B. Departments were of course delighted that the girls’ hard work had paid off and great success was recorded across the whole curriculum. All subjects studied at Truro High are rigorous and considered highly by the very best universities.

Headmistress Mrs Caroline Pascoe said, “These are wonderful results following on from our A levels last week. The girls perform so well academically here but what is extra special is the fact that they involve themselves in all that the school offers – from study to musical, sporting and theatrical activities – through to the physical demands of Ten Tors and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Here are busy, successful and personable young women who should be rightly proud of themselves.”
