POSTPONED - Truro City of Lights Lantern Parade

With high winds and heavy rain forecast, the Truro City of Lights Board have taken the decision to postpone the lantern parade which was due to take place on Wednesday 22 November 2017.

The event will take place in January 2018 and the date and details will be announced in due course.

High winds and heavy rain mean that the large lanterns cannot be paraded and there would be an increased risk to the small lanterns.  This kind of weather also presents a risk to the general public attending and they are keen to avoid any weather-related incidents.

The Christmas Lights will be turned on at 18:45 in Victoria Square on 29 November 2017 at the start of the Reindeer Parade. The Board are hugely grateful for all the support for City of Lights from their sponsors, volunteers, schools, businesses, partners, artists and bands and everyone who contributes to making this extraordinary event.  We look forward to all coming together again in January.
