Screening of ‘He Named Me Malala’
Join us for an exclusive screening of the BAFTA Award nominated film “He Named me Malala” at the Regal Cinema in Redruth on Sunday 20 March at 4pm.
The film is a documentary about Malala Yousafzai, who, as many of you will know, is a campaigner for girls’ education. Malala was shot by the Taliban at the age of 15 for campaigning for the right for all girls to attend school.
Her story following this terrible event is truly inspirational. She now lives in England and, like your daughter, attends a GSA school. She was recently extracted from a Chemistry lesson by her Headmistress to be told she had won the Nobel Prize for Peace.
“There’s a moment when you have to decide whether to be silent or stand up.” – Malala Yousafzai
The screening has been arranged by the School specifically for our community and we understand it will be the first time the film has been shown in Cornwall. All Senior pupils and their families are welcome to attend. The film has a PG rating.
Tickets are available in advance at a reduced rate of £3.50. To book yours, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the word “Malala” in the subject line. Tickets are also on sale from main school reception.
