Aspiring Medics Programme Official Launch
Pupils, parents, colleagues and friends in medical professions are warmly invited to join us for the official launch of our Aspiring Medics Programme on Tuesday 17 January at 7pm in the Piran Theatre.
The launch will commence with a lecture from Dr Hayes Dalal, Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer from the University of Exeter Medical School, on the topic “Research in medicine – why bother?” Dr Dalal qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1981 and is the joint lead Investigator on the REACH-HF [Rehabilitation Enablement in Chronic Heart Failure] study. He is currently a GP partner at the Three Spires Medical Practice in Truro and a researcher at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. Since 1997 he has conducted various NHS funded research projects in collaboration with patients, clinicians and academics involving heart disease and rehabilitation. He is an honorary clinical senior lecturer with the University of Exeter Medical School.
Our bespoke, two-year programme aims to support those pupils with career aspirations in the fields of medicine, dentistry and veterinary science. Through a tailored calendar of lectures, workshops, mentoring and one-to-one support from experts in the field, we aim to best prepare our pupils to pursue their career aspirations and gain places on their chosen university courses.
We do hope that you will be able to attend the evening, spaces are limited so please email email@example.com to book your place.
