A Gala Night at the Idle Rocks @ The Idle Rocks | Saint Mawes | England | United Kingdom

On Friday 4 November we are delighted to be partnering with The Idle Rocks, St Mawes to bring you an enchanting evening by the sea in aid of the School and PTA’s new appeal to transform one of our former grass tennis courts into an exciting adventure playground.

We’ll be telling you more about the playground plan over the coming weeks but essentially we are looking to create an exciting and stimulating area where our girls can test their agility and let off some steam at rec.

Our venue for the evening is The Idle Rocks – a home away from home where you can kick off your shoes, relax and re-engage with the simpler pleasures in life. Privately owned by David and Karen Richards, the hotel is idyllically situated on the harbourside of St. Mawes, with 19 bedrooms, each with its own unique style, a restaurant with views across the unspoilt harbour, and a south facing terrace that sits perfectly on the rocks.

The food offering is a celebration of Cornwall and its local produce, only using seasonal, fresh and locally sourced ingredients prepared with simplicity and to the highest of standards.  Head Chef, Guy Owen developed his culinary expertise with some of London’s leading chefs before returning to the South West to work at leading hotels Gidleigh Park under Michael Caines and Driftwood with Chris Eden, before taking the helm at The Idle Rocks.  We are guaranteed an evening that will set your taste buds alight.

There are just 60 tickets available for this very special event priced at £56 per person to include a glass of wine on arrival and a mouth-watering three course dinner, music and silent auction. Tables can be for four, six, or larger so please feel free to get together a group and let us know what you would like to reserve. Spaces are strictly limited so, as they say, book early to avoid disappointment!

The Idle Rocks is very kindly offering Truro High guests attending the dinner a very special rate should they wish to extend their evening with a night at the hotel followed by breakfast overlooking the harbour. Grand Sea View – £230 per night for two, Harbour or Sea View Room – £200 per night for two or Village Room – £150 per night for two.

Reserve your tickets for the gala dinner by contacting us on To book a room, please call The Idle Rocks direct and quote Truro High’s special rate.
