Young Art Cornwall Competition 2019

Could your daughter’s masterpiece been seen by thousands at Falmouth University?

Following the huge success of last year’s competition, Young Art Cornwall in conjunction with Cancer Research UK is again challenging our young artists to let their imaginations run riot and create a masterpiece inspired by the theme of “Feelings”.

Last year the competition raised over £4000 for Cancer Research UK, so why not join in and help them raise even more vital funds?

The competition is open to girls from age 4 – 19.

Artists must submit a picture based on the theme, on either A4, A3 or A2 sized good quality paper or canvas. They may use drawing, painting, printmaking or photography/digital media.

To participate, Young Art Cornwall ask that each student donates £2 to Cancer Research UK.

The top entries will be showcased in a special exhibition at Falmouth University and will be auctioned to raise money for the charity. The artwork will also be available for sale in postcard and canvas format which can be ordered at the exhibition. The winners in each age category will be chosen by the competition’s panel of judges, who are successful local artists.

It is a wonderful way to encourage children’s creative talents, an exciting opportunity for aspiring young artists to have their work judged by well-known and respected local artists, and, of course, raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The closing date isn’t until Michaelmas half term which gives your young artist plenty of time over the summer holidays to create their masterpiece.

Please ask your daughter to submit her work directly to Mrs Tutin, or their class teacher, and their £2 entry fee.
