Looking for a truly magical shopping experience? Truro High School will be sprinkled with a liberal hand of seasonal fairy dust this winter for their beautiful festive Christmas Market.
The school will be transformed into an enchanting Christmas shopper’s paradise filled with vendors selling stunning handmade festive treats and gifts. Soak up the sights, smells and sounds as you wander around the stalls which, enjoyed with a generous helping of seasonal foodie delights and delicious drinks, will get even the biggest humbugs into the Christmas spirit!
With festive fun and games, affordable gifts for all the family, incredible raffle prizes and Santa’s Grotto nearby there’s plenty of fabulous festive things to keep you (& your little elves) busy.
This January, THS young engineers are put their overalls to one side for a night and getting dressed up to the nines to celebrate another impressive season at our annual Greenpower Awards Dinner.
The dinner is set to take place here at school on 24 January 2020 at 7pm. James Robinson, Louise Goodman and Cristiana Pace are among the confirmed motorsport guests and they will all be presenting awards.
Exclusive motorsports memorabilia and experiences are up for grabs this January as part of our the ceremony’s Silent Auction so send your bids in now to be in with the chance of winning these money can’t buy lots.
Lots on offer include:
– A technical drawing of the 2019 F1 World Championship-winning Mercedes-AMG Petronas signed by Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes-AMG team.
– The signed race boot of F1 Filipe Massa, Brazilian Formula E and former Formula One racing driver. Massa competed in 15 seasons of Formula One between 2002 and 2017, during which time he scored 11 Grand Prix victories, 41 podiums and finished as championship runner-up in 2008.
– Two VIP weekend passes to the British Touring Car Championships at Thruxton in May 2020. The experience will include a behind-the-scenes tour around the ITV broadcast trucks and the chance to meet presenters Louise Goodman, Steve Rider and the rest of the team
– Bed and Breakfast for two at the Idle Rocks, St Mawes

Whether you’re a fan of bebop or perhaps just keen on something cold with ice and a slice, it’s time to reserve your place for one seriously swinging night out in aid of Kernow Young Carers – ‘Gin and Jazz’.
Friday 20 March will see the main school hall transformed into a Gin Palace like no other as we bring Tarquin’s Gin and our fabulous jazz musicians together under one roof for an evening of scintillating sounds and brilliant botanicals.
The evening is open to parents, staff, Old Girls and all your gin-loving friends.
Proceeds from the evening will go to Kernow Young Carers, a Cornish-based children’s charity that tackles problems such as neglect and child abuse, as well as running services that are aimed at making children’s lives better.
Doors will open at 7pm revealing the main hall transformed for the night with free tasting tables, a gin bar selling signature Tarquin’s G&Ts and an array of tasty nibbles to enjoy at your leisure. You can also stock up on supplies to enjoy at home so don’t forget to bring your wallet.

There is a great deal of excitement in Prep School about our forthcoming Cornwall Junior Disco, so don’t forget to get your tickets to ensure your daughter’s place at this fabulous, fun-filled evening.
The event will take place in our beautiful ball marquee on the lawns at school on Wednesday 6 May from 6pm to 8pm.
Prep, Pre-Prep and Year 7 girls are welcome to attend the disco and Prep School staff will be among those present to ensure everyone has a wonderful time. Many of the girls are already planning their outfits with choices so far ranging from ball-dresses to jeans and T-shirts. The rule of thumb is to arrive dressed to party, anything goes!
Many of the girls have brothers, sisters and friends from outside of school and the event is open to these children as well. The marquee is enormous so bring along lots of friends, the more the merrier!
Parents are welcome to stay and watch the party and we will also be providing a VIP (Very Important Parents) Pimms Bar where mums and dads can take time out from the music and relax.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our Spring Ball at school on Friday 19 June 2020.
Following the success of this year’s enchanting evening, parents of girls from across the school, family, friends and Old Girls are welcome to join our Year 11 to 13 girls as they celebrate in style at what promises to be a fabulous night.
The evening will see our lawns transformed into a partygoers paradise: the perfect setting to dress up in our finest, catch up with friends and celebrate the start of summer in a truly spectacular way.
Vacancies for event sponsors are available and we would love to hear from any companies willing to get involved and offer support. Sponsors will receive extensive weekly publicity up until the event, and after it, as well as recognition on a banner at the ball.
