| The report stated that ‘children benefit from free access to a wide range of appropriate, stimulating, enjoyable and high quality resources.’
Describing the teaching and learning as ‘outstanding’ it went on to say that ‘staff are knowledgeable and confident in their use of the foundation stage curriculum’ and that ‘children are encouraged to influence learning opportunities, as they share their own experiences and ideas. As a result, children’s learning is exciting and memorable.’
Operating from a purpose-built nursery unit in the grounds of Truro High School, Trevean Nursery takes a maximum of 20 boys and girls at any one time and has five members of staff.
‘This inspection report is testament to the hard work and dedication of the nursery staff,’ said Michael McDowell, Headmaster of Truro High School. ‘They are all totally committed to providing the three and four year olds in their care with the very best education and resources available. Most of all, though, they are determined that all the children benefit from an environment that is safe, exciting and fun.’
The nursery, which receives support from the local authority, is open all day – with an after school facility running until 6pm. Children can attend morning, afternoon or all day sessions.
