Our School : Educational Visits
Many trips take place in Cornwall, the United Kingdom, Europe and beyond. Some of these trips complement the curriculum whilst others are simply for fun! Most trips are entirely optional.1. Theatrical performances - Minack theatre, Hall for Cornwall, Plymouth Theatre Royal, The Globe London, Shakespeare's Stratford on Avon.
2. Sports tours - local and national competitions including nationals in Birmingham, watching international netball matches, canoeing in the Ardeche (France) and sailing on the Mediterranean (France), hockey tour of Malta, netball tour of Cyprus, ski trips to France, Italy, Austria and Canada. Joint hockey/netball to Barcelona.
3. Music trips - local and national competitions and productions plus annual choir trip just before Christmas (Bruges, New York, Salzburg, Venice, Paris, South Africa, Hong Kong). Tour to Munich planned Dec 2011.
4. Art/Classics/Geography trips to Iceland, Rome, Athens
5. Modern Language trips to Germany, France and Spain
6. English trips to Bath, Stratford on Avon, London
7. Art and Textiles trips to London museums and galleries
8. Maths and Science trips to universities for competitions and masterclasses
9. Prep School residential trip in May for Preps 4-6 (4 days, 3 nights). This year they went to Barton Hall, Dorset.
10. Prep 3 'Discovering Cornwall' day trips - a portfolio of work including one night away.
11. Prep workshops in Royal Cornwall Museum Truro, St Agnes WWII Museum, Flambards Victorian Village, Trelissick Gardens, local beaches, Art Galleries (including Barbara Hepworth Museum and Tate St Ives)
12. Fun year group trips: The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, Ice Skating at the Eden project, Plymouth Aquarium, Tobogganing at Plymouth Ski School, Shopping in Bristol, West End London trip, Bishop's Forum Outdoor Activity Centre, Flambards theme park
