5 April 2011 / TRURO HIGH'S GOT TALENT
The acts included Georgina Rowe, Daisy Kendall and Harriet Gifford who sang as The White Supremes, Joy Hunneyball who played her recorder, Martha Camerer-Cuss who sang, Lydia Hall who recited a poem, Hannah and Rachel Pearce who sang, Loka Liu who danced, Megan Vanstone who sang, Amani Hart who played the drums, Maisie Tooley who sang, Gabrielle Dawson and Katherine Glanville who did a magic show, Celia King who sang, Lowenna Ovens who sang and Sasha Aghdam and Cathrine Thompson who performed a comedy sketch.
Loka Liu, Cathrine Thompson, Sasha Aghdam and Megan Vanstone were the three most popular acts and, after much deliberation, judges Caroline Pascoe (Headmistress), Juliet Trewellard (English teacher and drama graduate) and Adam Nicholls (accomplished singer and actor), chose Loka Liu as the overall winner.
"The standard of entry to the competition was extremely high and the whole evening was hugely entertaining," said Caroline Pascoe. "Picking a winner was hard but Loka Liu's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang dance was outstanding."
The event was organised by Friends of Truro High (FoTHS).
