19 November 2012 / TRURO HIGH'S GOT TALENT

The annual contest, modelled along the lines of Britain's Got Talent, was organised by the school's Parent Teacher Association and raised more than £500 towards new theatre, sport and prep school equipment.  Amongst the fourteen acts taking part were solo singers Jess Oddy, Chelsea Stimpson-Thurlby, Savannah Hall, Saskia Beechy-Newman, Phoebe Reynolds and Sophie Donne, dancers Chesten Trevail, Katie Humphreys, sisters Amelia and Laura Heather, Ellie Owen, Ella Carr, Amy Shaw, Niamh Westgarth and Keya Patwardhan, rapper Anna Phillips, singing duo Martha Camerer-Cuss and Gina Rowe, group singers Niamh Durkin, Jenny Twist, Lydia Pearse, Annie Wilde, Mia Parnall, Anna Gowenlock, Zarah Dalal, Katie Fielder, Dorian Cheng, Kelly Mann, Ashley Lo, Cherrie Yung and Queenie Wong and musicians Tilly Lee, Abigail Leigh, Zoe Hastings and Molly Leigh.

The audience cast their vote after everyone had performed and the top three acts were then judged by headmistress Caroline Pascoe, actress and Miracle Theatre Company founder Keri Jessiman and speech and drama tutor Sue Bradbury.

Phoebe Reynolds, 14, from St. Austell, came first singing her own composition ‘Marathon', Martha Camerer-Cuss, 18, from Ponsanooth, and Gina Rowe, 17, from Hayle, came second with their song ‘Last Request' and group singers Niamh Durkin, 14, from Stithians, Jenny Twist, 15, from Perranwell Station, Lydia Pearse, 14, from Truro, Annie Wilde, 14, from Helston, Mia Parnall, 14, from Camborne, Anna Gowenlock, 14, from Truro, Zarah Dalal, 14, from Truro and Katie Fielder, 14, from Penryn, were third with ‘Techno Fan'.
