Truro High School prepared and collected over 100 boxes for this year's 'Christmas Gift Box' appeal run by the Christian organisation 'Samaritan's Purse'. This year our boxes have been designated to be driven to Serbia for distribution among the vulnerable children in that country. The photos shows just some of the boxes with Julia and Annabel, the Form Captain and Vice Captain of 8A, who, together with the rest of their form and their Tutor Mr Mothersole the Religious Philosopy and Ethics teacher, helped to coordinate the collection of boxes. • 17 November 2010 - 17 November 2011 / PREP 5 AND PREP 6 SHINE THEIR LIGHT

Prep 5 and Prep 6 were thrilled to be asked to appear in the 2010 Truro City of Lights this month. The girls enjoyed an absorbing and productive workshop with Clare Summerson, a local professional artist who led them through the intricate skill of bending withies and then the rather messier and less intricate skill of coating each apple shape with PVA soaked sheets of paper! Fortunately we had an army of willing parents to assist with all stages of creation and their support was much appreciated - thank you! Just before the parade through the city it poured with rain but luckily there was a gap in the showers during the special event. 9 November 2010 / STARS SHINE BRIGHTLY IN TRURO HIGH NATIVITY

Unperturbed by the bank of cameras focused on them and the proud, unwavering gaze of parents, grandparents, relatives and friends, the youngsters acted, sang and danced their way through the familiar tale of the Nativity, enchanting everyone who watched.

Narrators Elizabeth Grande-Eguiluz and Hannah Plowright did a magnificent job of providing clearly heard links whilst Izzy Leigh as the big star who couldn't find her shine certainly shone throughout. The costumes were colourful and beautifully made and, by the time the whole cast sang a final ‘We Wish You Merry Christmas', it's safe to say that everyone present was well and truly in festive mood.

"Everyone involved in the performance has worked really hard and I'm very proud of what they have achieved," said Prep School Headmistress Alison Miller. "It's been a great start to Christmas."
