Despite the extra pressure of a top class competition, Jordanna, 14, cleared 1.74m first time to win the under 15s girls' indoor high jump at the Midland and South West Championships held in Birmingham last weekend, once again breaking an indoor county record.
Hot on the heels of that success, she went on to win the 60m hurdles at the same competition which meant she brought two gold medals back to Cornwall.
Proud mum, Carole Morrish explained that her talented daughter was on such good form on the day she could possibly have cleared even higher in the high jump but decided with other competitions to attend before the end of the season she didn't want to risk injury.
Carole said: "It's just fantastic. We knew she was capable but she keeps on getting better and better, sometimes I can't quite believe it."
Truro High School's Headmistress, Caroline Pascoe, shared Mrs Morrish's pride. She explained that Jordanna's successes are enjoyed by the whole school.
Mrs Pascoe said: "Jordanna works very hard at sport, as her many medals and records prove, but she is also a keen and motivated student who is doing well academically. Her dedication is a fine example to us all and we are all proud of her on so many levels."
Jordanna is hoping to continue her season's success next weekend when she will go back to Birmingham to compete in the Indoor England Championships for which she has qualified for both the high jump and the hurdles.
