Boarding : Health and Happiness

Birthdays:
Birthdays are important occasions in House. If a girl's birthday occurs during term time the House usually celebrates by providing a cake for your daughter to share with her friends at tea time and a card signed by members of her year group.

Food:
We regard meal times as important social occasions and the House staff are present at breakfast and supper.
All meals are compulsory; there are alternatives available for vegetarians and special dietary needs. Mealtimes are as follows:

Breakfast at 8.00am (although at weekends the girls have their breakfast in the House at a time to suit them)

Lunch at 12.30pm

Supper at 5.30pm

House Duties and Laundry:
All girls are required to help in the House with Kitchen duties. This is done strictly on a rota basis.

Senior Boarders are expected to do their own laundry in our laundry room. Washing powder is provided by the school. Prep laundry is done by the Houseparents. Bed linen is sent to an external laundry at no charge.

Health and Safety:
The School has a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy and related Fire Safety Policy. These cover the various facets of School life both on and off the premises and follow local and national regulations and guidelines.

Sick Bay:
Boarders are registered with a local General Practitioner. If a Boarder feels unwell she will either go straight to the Doctor or to Sick Bay during school hours. Unwell boarders return to their House in the evening unless they are poorly enough to warrant remaining in Sick Bay overnight with a qualified member of staff.

Spirituality:
Truro High School has a Church of England foundation and Christian values underpin all that we aim to do and teach. However, the School values the presence and the contribution of members of other denominations and faiths. We are pleased to organise transport to both churches and other places of worship as required.
