Admissions : International Agents

We greatly enjoy working with Overseas Education Agents towards the placing of girls into Truro High School and the excellent working relationships we have built up along the years have led to many girls joining us from:

Short Stay visits:
Some students simply want a few weeks deep immersion in English and to spend some time in Cornwall. Provided there is space available in the appropriate boarding houses we are more than happy to welcome girls into the school where they follow the whole school curriculum alongside bespoke intensive English lessons and local trips.

Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form long-stay careers:
Other girls join us at any stage from Prep 5 to Sixth Form. Please note that if girls are joining in Years 9, 10 or Sixth Form they will need to display a competent level of English in order to cope with the demands of the full GCSE/A level curriculum. All overseas candidates (except those joining the Prep School) will be required to sit some entrance papers. Most girls will sit both Maths and English papers although those joining the Sixth Form will also be required to sit exams in those subjects they hope to study at A level.

One Year GCSE - Pre IB/A level Programme
From September 2012 the school will welcome students onto a 1-Year Pre IB/A level course. The students will sit 5 GCSEs at the end of their year in order to conform to the requirements of the IB/A level programme. The subjects will be: Mathematics, English Language, a second Language (German, Spanish, French or Latin), a science (Physics, Chemistry or Biology) and a humanity subject (Geography, History, Economics/Business Studies).

Commission:
Agents receive 10% of the student's first year's fees.
